Treating Gums With Laser Therapy

Let’s face it: teeth are the star of the show for many patients. But gums play an essential supporting role and should never be taken for granted. Minor gum problems can start small but quickly disrupt your entire life if left untreated. Gum disease is actually the #1 cause of tooth loss in adults.

Plus, from a cosmetic standpoint, too much of the gums showing can greatly diminish your smile’s appearance.

Because of these things, we’re using a state-of-the-art laser technique known as LANAP to treat gum tissue and remove the dangerous tartar and bacteria that causes gum disease.

Our laser treatment is a great alternative to traditional gum surgery, which uses old school scalpels and sutures.

The lasers evaporate the infection from the gums and sets the stage for healthy tooth and gum reattachment.

And we can use the laser to reshape the gums for an easy smile makeover solution.

Same-Day Dental Crowns

Most other dental offices require  two or three visits to place a permanent dental crown. But at Millburn Dental Arts, we can place a permanent crown in just about 90 minutes! We can place same-day crowns because of our digital technology and in-house milling station.

This is nice because you won’t need to wear any temporary crowns for weeks or even months like you would at some dental practices.

Also there is none of that goopy material involved because these days we are also using digital impressions. In the end, a better, more precise impression means a better crown overall.

Oh, and there’s no metal either. Some other dental offices still use metal-based crowns. While metal crowns are certainly strong, the metal always seems to stand out near the gum line. As such, our all-ceramic crowns are the more aesthetically-pleasing way to go.

A Modern Approach To Detecting Dental Decay

Regular cleanings and exams is one way for us to make sure you’re cavity free, and to be able to take action in the event that you aren’t. We check for cavities with a manual search and also with newer dental technology like the CariVu cavity detection device.
