There’s a little more to it than that, but basically, that it how veneers work. It’s also why veneers can be used to fix such a wide range of problems:

► Short teeth
► Worn down teeth
Can veneers fix every possible cosmetic problem you might have with your smile? Not quite, but veneers can take care of a lot of things.
And veneers can fix multiple problems at the same time.
Want your smile to be straighter and whiter? Veneers can do that.
Want to restore broken teeth and close a gap in your smile? Veneers can do that, too.

Different Kinds Of Veneers
We are proud to offer three kinds of dental veneers for our patients in and around Millburn, NJ.
Any of them can be used to address the issues mentioned earlier. We will be happy to help you decide which veneers are right for you.
In the meantime, here is a little information about the kinds of veneers that we offer.
■ Porcelain veneers — Porcelain has been used in cosmetic and restorative dentistry for a long time because it looks remarkably like natural teeth. To get porcelain veneers, we typically remove a thin layer of enamel and make impressions of your teeth, which are sent to a lab where your veneers will be custom-made for you.
When they are ready, you’ll return to our office so your veneers can be bonded to your teeth.
■ E.max veneers — E.max veneers are made with a specially treated ceramic. This material is made to be resistant to chips and staining, which can help you maintain your new smile longer.
■ DURAthin veneers — These are considered “minimal prep” veneers. These are made to be thin. This way little if any enamel needs to be removed from your smile. Even so, these are durable and look natural on your teeth.
■ Lumineers veneers — These are simply the thinnest veneers available today. They are designed to be applied without removing any enamel in most cases.
